Underlying Hebrew and Greek Texts

Many people when trying to find a Bible version that they want to use for studying and reading do not look at all the facts about the differing Bible versions before making a decision in this regard. Many do not realize that the Hebrew and Greek texts that pretty much all the new bible versions are taken from were not widely accepted amongst Christians during the first 1700 years of Christendom. Only during the last two centuries have these Greek and Hebrew texts gained prominence.

God promises to preserve his Word in the Bible and that is what he has done.
Psalms 12:6-7 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

God would not hide his words for hundreds of years under the sands in Egypt while in the meantime allowing scores of millions of people during that time to not come to the proper knowledge of him. This is inconsistent with his character and promise to preserve it for all generations.

The attack on God's word is a subtle one and yet it is a fierce battle between the forces and principalities of darkness and God's elect. Our Captain however has already won the battle but the casualties are high.

Modern textual criticism tries to discern what the words of the bible originally said but it's major proponents or the majority of them are not Christians and therefore they do not have the ability to properly discern spiritual truth from a spiritual book. If you begin with the assumption that it is like any other book you will fall short in evaluating it.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Textual criticism assumes that God is not able to keep his promise to preserve his word. This tenet itself is why a person should reject textual criticism.
